1. What was the climax of the story? Some of you have already talked about this in class, but I want each group to come to a consensus.
2. What was the social commentary?
3. Why did you like/dislike the novel? Don't just say "I thought the story was good"... I want some opinion and thought, here! Also, I don't want you to write "it sucked" without backing up your opinion with some good, critical comments. Think of a movie review. Those reviewers never just say "it sucked"... they give evidence and details.
And... it's okay to dislike your book!
---------------------------------------------------------
1. I'd say that the climax of the story is when Elizabeth Lavenza gets murdered the night of her wedding with Victor Frankenstein.
2. The author is saying that taking things to the extreme might just backfire or don't be so easilly decieved, Victor Frankenstein was trying to something that was totally impossible. Ironically the pursuit of his dream became his nightmare (killing all his close ones) because he thought he found the secret of life in some studies. Like in Davy's recent blog's ( I did pay attention when you mentioned the plagiarism) He's trying to play god and there was also no stem cell research. In the end franky dies... and a lose/lose outcome.
3. I found this book to bery very interseting. The beginning is a bit intersesting because when Victor studies chemistry and philosophy and thinks that he has found the key to life by re-animating the dead. well like mutilated body parts. -_-X I like and dislike the book because it has plots that i never had expected to happen and because the ending was sad. well having a sad ending is good too because the majority of the books, movies, and VIDEO GAMES always have a good ending or you win. This give s you a completely different perspective.
btw i remember some mentioned intelligience is seeing things from a different point of view, so i guess books similar to this can make your mind expand.
sorry if this doesnt make sense, my mind is like all over the place.

Frankenstein question
QUESTION: Since the stem-cell issue didn’t exist when Shelly wrote the novel, what do you think she was commenting on? Shelly is probably commenting that since they didn't have stem cell research,
(a stem cell is a “generic” cell that can make exact copies of itself indefinitely. It is a precursor cell that has the ability to make specialized cells for various tissues in the body (such as heart muscle, brain tissue and liver tissue). Stem cell research is expected to impact advances in curing diseases such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease, diabetes, spinal cord injury, heart disease, stroke, arthritis, and cancer.)
it was like impossible for this to be possible in a way... THIS IS HOW MY BRAIN WORKS! =] it might not make sense now... maybe later. how could u do something without the right equipment RIGHT?!?!
then again... maybe not...

Frankenstein
Conflict-
Victor Frankenstein, goes to the university of Ingolstadt. He studies some stuff like philisophy and chemistry. He then is inspired to research on what he has studied: "The secret to life". He gathers an army of old and mutilated body parts. One night Victor brings him to life... then is of course scared of his own thing... -_-X. Later the monster kills someone... but we won't get into that.
All-
i dun really get this....
